In the beginning of the 2013 session, a seminar was conducted by Music department. on topic ‘MUSIC" on 8th August 2013. This was a very important and interesting topic for the new students of the Music Department .First of all, the teachers of the department and the students venerated the MAA SARASWATI. After that The speaker , karamjeet kaur student of class BA II spoke on topic. to give the knowledge of classical music , Proff. POOJA KUNDRA played YAMAN RAAG on Sitar Barbi student of ba II spoke on Light music . This seminar has indeed proved to be very helpful for new students.
STAGE PERFORMANCE 9-8-2013
Presenting and performing in front of an audience is a unique opportunity for students to develop self confidence. It provide them with the chance to conquer their nerves and become more comfortable in front of crowds.keeping this view ,our music students performed folk orchestra in Teej Mela held at modal town organised by Deputy commissioner of Ferozepur.on 9th august 2013.our students played different folk instruments.they did not only bring praise but also rewarded them.
FOLK MUSIC OF PUNJAB 22-8-2013
The department of Music organised a Discussion on a very important Topic FOLK MUSIC OF PUNJAB ON 22nd Augest 2013. in this seminar , students were exposed to the characteristics of the FOLK music OF PUNJAB.Folk music of are routine in many raag, taal and styles. In this seminar it is was also mentioned that the folk music of Punjab is a real introduction culture and civilization.
GHARANA 13-8-2013
In the Indian classical music, the Gharana system in very important. The Gharana system has assembled our ancient music.A seminar was organized on 13 august 2013 in the Music Department.To tell the students the specialty and importance of the Gharana system. Speaker of the seminar were B.A. second year students, Kumari Shilpa and Rajbeer kaur. This seminar was actually very informative for students.
Gamak 23-08-2013
Any form of music whether singing or instruments, Gamak has special significance in music. Gamak has been used since ancient times even today. But there ancient times even today. but there is variation in the ancient and modern forms of the Gamak. A seminar was organised on Gamak on 23 august 2013, to give the students, the knowledge of the practical and theoretical aspects of Gamak.
AESTHETIC 10-9-13
On 10th September 2013, A debate was organised on a very interesting topic Aesthetic .Different students expressed their views on the relation between music and Aesthetic. After health discussion on this subject Prof. Pooja kundra highlighted the significance of the real meaning of aesthestic and its relation with music.
Department of music took on initiative to acquaint the students with the beautiful, colorful and informative world of books. For this 30 students were taken to the library with their teachers there in chief library Madam Mahinder kaur ,informed them about the working of the library. she told them how to check catalog to find the books of their choice. so that the precious the could be saved. She also answered the Question asked by the students of music in a very satisfactory mannered. The letter felt happy.
In Instrumental Music,Vadan Shailies have its own special significance Various instrumental artists have created different vadan shailies in indian instrument music. To make student aware of these various vadan shailies, department of music organised a seminar on the topic VADAN SHAILIYAN ka vikas on 15 th september 2013.After the threatical session,Dr.Sangeeta Sharma also gave the students the practice of playing the different vadan shailies on the sitar.
SARANGI 16-9-2013
Sarangi is a classical and folk instrument.It is very famous and tough instrument.The student find it very difficult because it has no fret.To make the student familiar with this instrument, the music department organised a Lecture cum Demonstration on Sarangi on 16th September,2013.Our international Sarangi player Ms.Kulwinder kaur played Sarangi so that student are also take intrest in learning Sarangi
Barbi Maan student of class BAIII delivered a Lecture - cum - Demonstration on the Raag " Madhwanti " on 18 th September 2013. First of all she gave the detailed knowledge of the Raag. After that she performed the Raag on sitar. She started the Raag with Alapchari,then she played Maseetkhani Gat with Toras .After that she played Razakhani gat with toras and Jhalas.
RAAG YAMAN 20-9-2013
Stage performances are helpful in developing the creativity of the students. stage performance is helpful in reducing the stage fear and makes a student move towards becoming a performer . Keeping in view, the department organised a stage performance on the famous raag "YAMAN".The student who explained and performed was Harpreet Kaur (B.A.II)

- Department of Music organised Two days workshop from 3rd october to 4th october 2013 on the "FOLK INSTRUMENT OF PUNJAB". In this workshop, students of diferent classes were given knowledge about various folk instruments. We trained the students to play different folk instruments like duff, dholl, tumbi, algooza, dholak and many more.In this workshop,all the members of the department made it successful by giving their support .
Visit to Gurudwara Jamini Sahib Bjeedpur 5-10-2013
On 5thOctober,2013, the students of Music Department paid a visit to the Gurudwara Jamini Sahib, Bjeedpur along with their
teacher Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma , Mrs. Pooja Kundra and Mr.Sarasvatsa along with 45 students. This trip was organised for students to enhance the knowledge of religions and aware them with their important values .
Sitar Competition 28-10-2013
A sitar compitition was organised by the department of the music on 28th Octobar,2013.This compitition was for the B.A.IIIrd year student.Student were given 5 to 10 minutes to present their presentations.In this compititon Kulwinder Kaur got First prize,Saniya got Second position and Parveen got Third prize
A Music based Quiz was organised in the Music Department on 21st November 2013.It was operated by Dr. Sangeeta and Mrs. Pooja Kundra .while the time management work was executed efficiently by the students. A student of each class was involved in this team.The question asked in the competition were related to music .The team that got more marks in each stage was declared the winner at the first , second and third place.
The Department of Music .organised " QUIZ COMPETITION "on 23rd December,2013.This competition was organised for the student of B.AIst year.The questions asked in the quiz were related to their curriculum.The questions that the student did not answer were answered by the teachers so that their knowledge could be further developed. The students participated in the quiz with deep interest

One day seminar on topic “Thaat and Notation system of Pt.V. N. Bhatkhande” was organised on 23rd january , 2014. The speaker of the topic was Sharnpreet kaur, student of BA II. She told the student about the ten thaat of Pt. Bhaatkhande .After explaining the thaat system,she spoke on the notation system .
Stage performance 17-02-2014
The Department Of Music organised a stage performance on 17th Feburary 2014.The purpose of this presentation was to prepare student for practical exam.Through this presentation, they will be able to over come their fear and self confidence will be awaken in them.

Bhagwan Dev Atma, The founder of Dev Samaj dreamt such educational system which incorporates modernization with protection of our eternal social, spiritual and moral values.The department of Music is trying to contribute to let Bhagwan Dev Atma dream come true by celebrating Maat-Pita Santan Diwas to make students aware about the importance of our eternal social, cultural and spiritual values. Students paid their respects and gratitude to their parents in a creative manner. i.e poetry, songs, memories and emotions.

In every year ,we celabtated the Birthday of Bhagwan Dev Atma, with whole heartily .Because Bhagwan Dev Atma contributed a lot to Dev Samaj .

This year the Students of music department performed Folk Orchestra at Mahotsav on 26th December 2015. Team of Folk orchestra played various tunes of Dev Samaj Bhajans on various folk instruments.
